Hólar University

Hólar University is a specialised higher education institution offering undergraduate and postgraduate education in three disciplines; Aquaculture and Fish Biology, Equine Studies, and Tourism Studies. Hólar is a historical site in northern Iceland that has been a seat of learning, historical, cultural and ecclesiastical importance since 1100s. The University can trace it’s roots back to the agricultural university opened there in 1882. The setting of Hólar University provides a good environment to foster the specialisation of it's programs, with close proximity to nature and culture which are the main resources for the disciplines taught.
